Presentation at American Bankruptcy Institute Hearing on Reform of the Bankruptcy Code

Jonathan N. Helfat and Melanie L. Cyganowski, partners at Otterbourg, made presentations at the hearings held at the Commercial Finance Association's annual convention in Phoenix, Arizona on November 15, 2012 by the American Bankruptcy Institute Commission to Study the Reform of Chapter 11. The commission is engaged in a two-year assessment of whether and how the US Bankruptcy Code should be amended to reflect changes in corporate finance and business structures since the 1978 Bankruptcy Code was last revised in 2005 with the Bankruptcy Abuse Prevention and Consumer Protection Act.
