Otterbourg Participates in 10th Annual International Lending Conference

The 10th Annual International Lending Conference, sponsored by the Commercial Finance Association, was held in London on May 10 through 12, 2016 at the London offices of Norton Rose Fulbright.
Otterbourg partner, David Morse, was one of the co-chairs and organizers of the conference, which featured panels on banks and the world economy, the impact of regulation on the international lending market, a focus on both the legal and practical aspects of lending in Spain and Italy, a market review of the international asset-based lending market, how financial institutions should think about multijurisdictional workouts, a review of the role of alternative lenders in the marketplace, a recap of legal developments affecting secured lending throughout the world, cutting edge developments in trade finance and a unique panel with chief financial officers of borrowers using the asset-based lending product speaking out about their experience..
The conference was attended by over 120 lenders, factors, insolvency practitioners, accountants, turnaround advisors and lawyers, including representatives of the major international financial institutions.
Jonathan Helfat, senior partner at Otterbourg, participated in the panel titled: "Workout Corner: How Should Institutions Think About Multijurisdictional Workouts?", where he discussed his recent experiences in a complex cross-border wind down of a business operating in over 8 jurisdictions from Europe to Asia.
Mr. Morse moderated the panel: "Market Review: A Look at the Current "Market" for International Asset-Based Lending" included as part of the conference.
