Beware the Traps: Ethical and Fiduciary Issues for Committee Members and Professionals

Melanie Cyganowski, partner at Otterbourg and former Chief Judge for the US Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of New York participated on a panel titled “Beware the Traps:  Ethical and Fiduciary Issues for Committee Members and Professionals,” held at the American Bankruptcy Institute's 34th Annual Spring Conference on April 16, 2016 at the JW Marriott Hotel in Washington, D.C.

The panel, consisting of Judge Cyganowski (Ret.), along with the Hon. Mary F. Walrath of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware, Jeffrey N. Pomerantz of Pachulski, Stang, Ziehl & Jones. LLP and Brent Weisenberg of Ballard Spahr LLP, discussed the fiduciary duties and other liabilities for committee members and their counsel under the Bankruptcy Code.
