5th Annual NYIC/CFA Joint Event:

March 30, 2016

Jonathan Helfat, senior partner at Otterbourg, moderated a panel titled "Winds of Change in the  Secured Lending Market" on Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at the 5th Annual NYCI/CFA Joint Event held in New York.

The panel included Chris Carmosino, President, Citizens Business Capital, Rishi Kumar, CEO, Coral Capital Solutions, and J. Michael Stanley, Managing Director, Rosenthal & Rosenthal, Inc., who discussed how asset-based lending, traditional factoring and entrepreneurial financing as products are responding to market changes.

The panel considered whether the established business models are succeeding in the face of current pressures on price, regulation and the disruptive changes sweeping markets such as apparel and energy, what steps have been taken to adapt to the changing circumstances and how these changes might open the door to new entrants to the market.

This program offered a rarely heard perspective on this issue by bringing together three different secured lending products that are often discussed separately, so as to provide the opportunity to explore how these disciplines can learn from each other as they prepare for an ever-increasing rate of market change.
