Otterbourg Attorney Speaks at ABI Bankruptcy Conference

Otterbourg partner and chair of its insolvency practice, Scott L. Hazan, was a panelist at the 19th Annual Southwest Bankruptcy Conference sponsored by the American Bankruptcy Institute held on September 8-10, 2011 at the Four Seasons Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada. The panel, "Professional Development Track: Ethical Challenges Representing Committees" focused on competition among law firms and other advisors to represent committees of creditors. It explored the ethical issues facing those professionals, the statutory framework, and the fall out from recent case law including the Universal Building Products decision from the District of Delaware. Scott's co-panelists included Chief Judge Kevin Carey, U.S. Bankruptcy Judge, Wilmington, Delaware; and Roberta A. DeAngelis, the United States Trustee for Region 3 which includes Wilmington, Delaware.
