March 17, 2026

Otterbourg partner Valerie Mason has been named a recipient of The New York Junior League’s 125th Anniversary Legacy Award, recognizing her leadership, professional excellence, and longstanding commitment to community service.

Mason was honored at the League’s 74th Annual Winter Ball, commemorating 125 years since its founding by Barnard College alumna Mary Harriman. The New York Junior League has long advanced women’s leadership and supported impactful civic initiatives across New York City.

As chair of Otterbourg’s Lender Finance practice, Mason, a Barnard graduate herself, is widely recognized for her leadership in banking and finance and was recently named to Crain’s New York Business’ Notable Women in Law list.

In addition to her legal practice, Mason is deeply engaged in civic and nonprofit work. She serves on the Board of Directors of the Women’s Prison Association and has held multiple leadership roles with Manhattan Community Board 8, among other community-focused initiatives; she is currently serving her third term as Chair of Manhattan Community Board 8.

Mason’s recognition reflects both her professional achievements and her sustained dedication to service—values that align closely with the mission of the New York Junior League and Otterbourg’s commitment to leadership in the broader community.
