Melanie Cyganowski Appears on American Bankruptcy Institute’s Webinar Series

Otterbourg partner Melanie Cyganowski was featured as a panelist on the American Bankruptcy Institute (ABI) webinar “BAPCPA at 20: Insights on the Law’s Impact 20 Years On” discussing the Bankruptcy Abuse Prevention and Consumer Protection Act of 2005 (BAPCPA).
Cyganowski, who previously served as chief judge of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of New York, was joined by Bruce Markell, a retired judge on the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Nevada and currently a professor at Northwestern University’s Pritzker School of Law. The panel was moderated by Perkins Coie bankruptcy and restructuring partner John Penn, who served as president of the ABI when BAPCPA was enacted. The three explored the evolution of bankruptcy law and key developments in the two decades since the law took effect.
