Otterbourg's Erik Weinick Appointed to U.S. Secret Service NY/NJ Cyber Fraud Task Force Steering Committee

U.S. SECRET SERVICE NY/NJ CYBER FRAUD TASK FORCE STEERING COMMITTEE

New York, New York, April 21, 2022: Otterbourg P.C., a full-service New York law firm, announced today that Partner Erik Weinick, co-founder of the Firm’s Data Privacy & Cybersecurity Practice Group, was appointed by the United States Secret Service’s New York Field Office to serve on the NY/NJ Cyber Fraud Task Force Steering Committee.  The Task Force seeks to leverage the combined resources of academia, the private sector, and local, state and federal law enforcement to better protect public and private electronic systems and data. The Committee is comprised of representatives from the legal, financial, information security, healthcare, legal, retail/hospitality and entertainment sectors, and is charged with driving the content of the Task Force’s quarterly conferences to ensure that members are actively engaged across a broad spectrum of public and private enterprises to keep up-to-date on the latest threats to information security.  Following his appointment, Mr. Weinick stated that “I am honored to have been selected by the U.S. Secret Service to work with such a distinguished group of leaders in the field of cybersecurity, and look forward to joining with them in furthering the Task Force’s important mission to combat the ever-increasing threats to our nation’s information infrastructure.”
