Settlement of Litigation for the Home of André Leon Talley

March 4, 2022

New York, New York, March 4, 2022 – Otterbourg P.C., a full-service New York law firm, announced today that a long running dispute involving the home of its client, the late and beloved fashion icon André Leon Talley, has been resolved with the filing of dismissals of two related court actions in Westchester County, New York.  Prior to his recent passing at the age of 73, Mr. Talley was engaged in litigation with the late George Malkemus III and Anthony Yurgaitis over the ownership of Mr. Talley’s long-time home located in White Plains, New York.  Otterbourg represented Mr. Talley in that litigation and was ultimately able to negotiate a settlement that allowed Mr. Talley to become the titled owner of the home and continue to reside there.  Otterbourg’s efforts were led by partner Erik B. Weinick and associate Michael R. Maizel.  Following the filing of the dismissals, Mr. Weinick commented that “while we mourn the loss of our friend and client, we are comforted by the fact that André was able to spend his final months at home knowing that it would always be his.”
