As governments domestically and internationally struggle to keep COVID-19 under control and eagerly await a return to pre-pandemic life, many are now considering implementing or have already implemented “vaccine passports,” which allow for proof of vaccination and testing history to be stored electronically. In fact, on March 26, 2021, New York launched the Excelsior Pass app, making it the first state in the nation to offer this novel technology.
