On November 3, 2020, Californians approved a ballot measure, Proposition 24 - the California Privacy Rights Act to replace the California Consumer Privacy Act and to create a new state consumer data privacy agency whose mission will be both to “vigorously enforce” the statute and “ensure that businesses and consumers are well‐informed about their rights and obligations”. This article found here examines both the existing regulations governing privacy in California and those that are to come under the new law.
