Otterbourg Attorney Chairs Secured Finance Network Annual Convention

The co-chair of Otterbourg's finance practice, David Morse, chaired the 75th Annual Secured Finance Network Convention held in New York City on November 13-15, 2019. The Convention was attended by almost 1,000 lenders, accountants, consultants, attorneys and others engaged in the secured finance industry.  See here for the interview with Morse on the Convention in the Secured Lender magazine.

The Convention included a presentation by Peter Zeihan, global strategist and futurist, a debate between Dr. Stephanie Kelton, a leading proponent of Modern Monetary Theory, and former CNBC economist, Marci Rossell, a town hall led by leading economist, Dr. Robert Westcott of Keybridge Research, as well as panels on:

  • the results of the Secured Finance Network's market sizing and impact study conducted by Ernst & Young,
  • developments in Chapter 11 financing led by the Chief Judge Christopher Sontchi of the US Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware, and including data on Chapter 11 financings from Debtwire,
  • data presented by Covenant Review on the state of loan document terms,
  • the results of the survey of the private debt market by BDO,
  • the latest information on the asset-based syndicated bank market from Refinitiv,
  • the state of the mergers and acquisitions market from Mergermarket.

These presentations were part of panels with leading industry experts and market participants to provide attendees insights to support their businesses.
